RBdigital Media Manager App Reviews

Great if you can figure out how to operate the app

I agree with previous users that this app is difficult to log into, but once there, the app itself works well and being able to borrow recorded books is worth the time it takes to figure it out. I followed makeda42s advice and it worked. I also recommend reading the FAQ page; its quite comprehensive helped me understand the process. Good luck!

Gone

No aspect of this application, its installation, its download nor its ability to play works. OneClickDigitals book selection process has always been flawed, taking up to two minutes to reply to a single button push. It is like selecting Genesis and getting the book of Samuel. Glaciers move faster than this site. "The rumors of my demise have been right on the money," quoth Mark Tween.

terrible app

This app is not very stable. One day it will work and the next day it crashes and forgets that you downloaded a book previously. I spend more time trying to download books to listen to than is worth the effort. There is NO support. I cant believe so many public libraries actually use this app. It is so infuriating I would not recommend it to anyone!

Should be called "Million Clicks"

I loved the idea of this app for borrowing digital audiobooks from my local library. Unfortunately, nothing but trouble. Had to call customer support to reset password, because e-mail reset failed. No bookmarking. I listen to books in the car, and every time I have to find the place again. Once a book starts playing its fine, but even though I have downloaded an ENTIRE book, at the end of each chapter I get "download next chapter." What the--? I know--you get what you pay for, but Ive paid taxes for my public library, and I expect better.

non functioning app

%100 nonfucntioning app. once installed i was prompted to enter my profile and password, then region. The region section allowed for North America and then…. NOTHING. no select bottom, enter doesnt progress, cant esc. basically thats as far as you can get if you live in North America.

What a pain

This downloaded well enough. Was able to request a book and download it to OneClick. From there I cant get it to my iPod. Just keeps saying "Some titles may didnt be transfered. Please try again later." Who ever wrote this program had no more understanding of programming then they do of the English language. Why do libraries use this, I have no idea.

Not easy

Trying to figure out how to use this. Not having much luck. I can usually get along with software…. Make that a -1star, not a one star.

One step back, two steps forward

This app functions smoothly for a while, then has hiccups. It feels like someone is always tinkering behind the scenes to catch up with Operating System changes. Overall, it is improving. It would be good to have a function that remembers where you left off listening. The book list offered through my Library system is exactly what I enjoy. Overdrive does not offer enough titles that are playable on my system.

Force Closure Guaranteed

OneClick Digital is the company that my library uses to allow patrons to download audiobooks. Why? Because it is VERY cost effective (as in it is the cheapest media manager available to them). Because of that I expect a few glitches. What I do NOT expect is constant issues. Of the 40-50 times I have used this app, it has force closed itself EVERY single time because of some issue or another. On top of that, downloading a book and expecting it to be where it is supposed to go - as in an iPod - is never a guarantee. Sometimes the audiobook shows up, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes the audiobook downloads without a problem, sometimes it will never download and you just have to give up listening to that book. BUT, the most annoying thing, over 95% of the books I have listened to (which include new releases), ALWAYS have skipping and jumping around!!!! Which means, just when you seem to be getting into the book, it skips and you miss stuff. UGH! ONECLICK DIGITAL, PLEASE SPEND THE MONEY AND HAVE SOMEONE DO AN UPDATE…..PLEASE!!!!!

Horrible App - Can’t believe libraries subscribe to this!!

First two book attempts were OK EXCEPT doesn’t keep track of where you left off listening reliably, no sleep timer (come on) and now 3rd book I can’t even log back in - server error on iphone and on Mac app. Please fix as this is a good feature service from our library but not if it doesn’t work!

Crashes but will remove DRM from WMA files

While this app will download digital books for you, it crashes everytime I try to tell it to copy the content to my iPhone. Ive downloaded an audio book that has 30 parts, and after 5 attempts to copy, the most it ever copied was 4 files. The only good thing about this software is that it converts WMA files to MP3 - so if youre quick, you can take those MP3 files and move them from the temp folder to someplace safe and then copy them your self to your iPhone/iPod/other digital music device.

This application is horrible. (Review for OS X version)

This program is very buggy. It crashes often, and is impossible to transfer files to an iPod. When you click download/transfer it says it is transferring, but nothing happens to the files. They are never transferred to an Ipod even if you have clicked to manually manage music. Therefore to get the files to your Ipod. Go to your desktop. Hold down the option key and click on Go in the top menu. Click on Library. Go to the search function and type Oneclick. Select library from the where to search tab. Open the folder OneClickDigital. Open the folder OCDFiles. Open one of the folders in there. You will see a list of MP3 files for your downloaded book. Open Itunes. Select all of the MP3 files that you found in the folder and drag them onto your iPod in Itunes. Now the files have been transferred, and you can play them as needed. They will be listed under Music in your Ipod.

Get your audiobooks elsewhere

This app is the worst! I’ve experienced many of the issues mentioned by other reviewers. I hadn’t been using it long so I thought I could tolerate it. Wrong! I just updated my iPhone and now I can’t use the app at all, it just crashes. There have been no updates to this app since September 2013 despite all the issues listed in these reviews. So I know I shouldn’t wait around for a fix. I’m going to delete this app and tell my library not to give this company any more money.

Terrible application that works randomly

This is a horrible application that works randomly. I must use it to download audiobooks from my local library, but it is a hit or miss if it will work. Sometimes the application will crash, sometimes it won’t download a book, sometimes it won’t transfer a book to my iPod. There are times when it actually does what it is supposed to do. It is extremely frustrating to use.

Unhappy with application

I do not like this application at all. Ive used overdrive, amazon kindle and others, and this has caused me more problems. The customer response is very slow, and your book loan begins before you can even get on the site, which has now taken me seven days - logon problems, lack of response, questions about where to download the app. I have even gone to the library to get help and still havent been able to find my audio bookl There needs to be a live "contact us." When the email came about oneclickdigital, there was no way to contact them or explain the steps to get your book. I am hopeful I can get my audio book today before it expires…or I do. :-). I am a mac user.

Files don’t move to iTUNES or iPOD

The app does not seem to work. When I select “Download / Transfer”, I find the OCDF file in my download folder on the MAC. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to move them into iTUNES or iPOD. Most Audiobook apps have a simple button in the app that moves the recorded book into the iPOD. This one does not. After trying different approaches for about an hour, I am giving up. Please make this app work. There are many good books on your service I would like to listen to.

"Some files may didn

Yes, thats a real error message, on this literary-centric app. Endlessly crashes. If you ARE lucky enough to get a books complete set of files transferred to your device, then you still have to select them all and use Get Info->Options to change them to the Audiobook format. Again, from an app that exists to manage digital books? You used to be able to choose (at your librarys site) between WMA or MP3 files. Now they hide this information from you, so you have to suffer through this abomination of an app to make WMA files work with your Mac. You can use the iPhone app to listen to the books, but as many others have already mentioned, I prefer to listen to books at 2X speed so this is not an acceptable workaround for me. Another reviewer helpfully showed us the file location on the Mac (thanks!), but sometimes (mostly in my case) files are rendered as .EMP3 and only sometimes as mp3. Sadly, the EMP3 files are useless; changing the extension doesnt help. I managed to process 6 audiobooks, with varying levels of success. Two translated into mp3 files, which I simply copied from the hard drive (because the app just wouldnt get them all on my phone) and dealt with them normally. One copied successfully to my iPad, and I used iMazing to rip those mp3 files onto my hard drive, then into iTunes. One transferred to the iphone after numerous crashes (delete the incomplete files along the way). One I will just have to listen to on the iPhone app because it wouldnt transfer even one file (I tried using iMazing to rip those files too, but they are in a different format, .mep3, which just gives a little squeak when you change the extension to mp3) . The last one only transferred about half the files. Ill listen to the last half of it on the app also. Luckily my library also uses OverDrive, which is a solid, reliable app. Ill stick with that from now on. What a waste of time Oneclickaudio is. Certainly isnt one click, with all the crashing.

Simply the worst

This app is junk. Why libraries allow it to be used is beyond me.

This app does not work; I can’t login to my account!

This app is terrible! I can never login on the Mac app! It always pops up a ‘Server Error’ but it works on my iPhone fine. I like reading off my laptop sometimes but I can’t get this app to work. It’s very disappointing!

Good but needs updating

I agree somewhat with the other reviewers but overall I have had little trouble with OneClickDigital, both on my laptop and iPhone. I have had to reinstall 3 times in 2 years. I guess I am of the generation that remembers all the crashes of yesteryear. I would like to see better searching - ‘my search’ always returns to page 1 after you read a summary and can be very time-consuming. I like that I can checkout more than 4 books. I have checked out 8 books with no trouble. On the iPhone though, it does take a long time to download and unless you go to settings - general - auto-lock - never (OneClick gives you the option in app but that does not seem to work) downloading can seem to take hours. (other library apps seem to download quickly) Once I am listening, though I have not had troubles and it is easy to use. And all the books are free for listening. No subscriptions, no book charges.
