Laptop version doesn’t work

“Server Error” every time I try to open the app on my laptop. Running on Yosemite - Mac. Please get this fixed...

No longer works

I can’t even get into the manager now, off the Mac OS app or the PC app. Absolutely a waste of time.

Server error

App is useless. Everytime I try to open the app it comes back with “server Error”. I thought it was me or my download but after reading reviews it is clearly OneClick Digital. I am unable to download books. I have a similar problem with iPhone version of the app. I can log in using the iPhone version but it does not download any of the books I have reserved. All I get is a a loading icon that goes around and round endlessly. After 15 or twenty minutes I shut the the phone to end the download attempt.

Nope, doesn

What a waste of time, just get the run around. App registers as installed, but doesnt allow downloads, just bumps back to install screen. Useless

Can’t get it to work

My wife has an old installation on her iPhone, which works. Tried installing it on two different computers running Yosemite - nada. Returns ‘server error’ with no other information or suggestions on what to do. Dead on arrival.

If I could give this -1000 stars I would.

This app simply does not work for a MAC. I have it on my old PC and it sort of works ok - it misses chapters sometimes. However on my Mac, I can never get past the login/server error. I have tried this many times and made new login and it is worthless. I am just happy one of my local libraries uses overdrive and works just fine on my Mac.

No longer works

One click no longer works on either of my macs with the newer version. I reinstalled the app twice and still does not work. One operating system is Snow Leopard the other is Lion. Too bad it used to work just fine and easy to both listen to on the computer and downlaod to my ipod nano. What a shame.

Downloads are working again - but they killed a major feature

PRO: Downloading again after several weeks of downtime CON: Oneclickdigital killed wma transfer on osx CON: Oneclickdigital doesn’t currently tell you which titles are wma encoded This app gets worse on every iteration. It downloads again but no longer will transfer/convert wma to iPhone/iPod like it used to. This app had one job and now it will not do it. Right now it will only transfer MP3 to an iDevice. iTunes does that relatively well on its own without any help from a third party app.

Yay! It works!!

I can actually use the app to access my account! Before it wouldn’t even sign in.

Upgrade not working

This app has been balky on my MacBook Pro, running Mavericks. Petty issues, like it would need to be closed out and reopened to refresh the chapters, and it wouldn’t remember where I was in the book. But it would play on my laptop, and I could transfer to my iPhone or my iPad where it would well. This new update installed itself, and after I accessed it by going to my Library’s homepage to get to OneClickDigital, and re-entering my information, I could get to browse the selections. I have borrowed a title, it downloads to my download folder. I double-click it, and the app opens up in it’s old format. No titles, no nothing. It does appear on my phone, but sometimes, I just want to play it on my laptop…. Not really impressed with this new version. I hope that my book will at least retain where I left off!

Love this app!

My husband and I have been using OneClickDigital for a number of years. The app has had some ups and downs as the years have passed, but we continue to be able to listen to book after book successfully. I think most of the problems are caused by less Apple compatibility than with other systems. Some of the issues have been fixed and the app works smoothly most of the time now. This is much easier than checking out books on cd from the library.

Very poor performance and getting worse.

There was a time when I could, with much work, get the OneClickDigital Media Manager to work, this is no longer the case. I have followed al the directions I have been given. I set my iPod Nano to manually manage music. I have open and closed applications and disconnected and reconnected my iPod numerous times. In spite of these efforts the media manager refuses to transfer the book I have checked out to my iPod.

Just the worst

There are two reasons why you would have a desktop client for ebooks and audiobooks: to read the ebook on your mac, or transfer the title to an iPod. I don’t do the former, because reading on a small screen is easier for me, and OneClick makes the latter impossible. Seriously, don’t download this to transfer to an iPod. It doesn’t work. If you’re using an iPod Touch or iPhone, download the mobile app. If you’re using a different iPod, try: -Via your browser (Safari, etc), log into your OneClick account. -Click on your name, click on “My Account” -On the left side of the screen is a menu. Click on “My Preferences” -Scroll down. In "eAudio Preferences,” select “downlaod zip file” -Scroll down. Choose “Update preferences.” You’ll only be able to download titles without DRM protection, but at least you can import them to iTunes. Forever. -Click on “OneClickdigital” in the upper left-hand corner. -Click on the little magnifying glass next to the seach bar (no keyword entry is necessary). -On the right hand side, above the buttons that look like squares and rectangles (options on how to display search results), you’ll see “Advanced Search.” Click on it. -A window will appear. The bottom-right option says “All Digital Rights.” Click on it; in the drop-down menu that appears, click on “Non-Protected.” -You can enter other criteria in the other fields, otherwise you’ll retrieve all your available titles to download. -Pick one. Check it out. It should automatically download. You can find it in Finder (the smiley face), in the downloads folder. -Go to iTunes. Choose “File” from the top menu bar, and then “Add to Library.” -Choose the folder in your “Downloads” folder. It is probably titled with poorly. Click on the folder so the title is highlighted, and click on “Open,” located in the bottom right-hand side of this window. -iTunes will import this as a music album. Go to your Music (the little music eighth notes), and find an Unknown Album (probably in your recently added list). Click on it. -Click on “File,” up top, then “Get Info.” -A new window will pop up with “Details,” “Artwork,” “Options,” and “Sorting.” Click on "Options.” -Click on the “media kind: Music” and choose “Audiobook.” I recommend also checking the box for “Remember playback position.” -Click on "Artwork.” You can go back to the browser at this point, find the main page for your title, and click and drag the cover art picture onto your computer’s desktop. In iTunes, click on “Add Artwork,” find the image your dragged onto your desktop, click on it, and click on “Open.” You should see it in iTunes now. -Almost done. Go to “Details.” Manually enter the title and author of your work. There are other options you can fill in, but I don’t care about them for sorting. -Click “OK.” -In iTunes, click on the “…” along the top of the window and choose “Audiobooks.” Double-check everything looks correct. -Plug in your iPod and make sure you’re syncing Audiobooks. Sync your new title over. Because you’ve downloaded a Digital Rights Management-free title, it will be there forever. So at least all this work is worth something. -Contact your library and let them know that they are paying for something their users can’t use. Recommend they not renew contracts with them. This is a really long list of steps. That’s because OneClick doesn’t care about you or about their reputation. They have a bad product and they will not support it. If your library uses OverDrive, rejoice. Their software actually tends to work. I emailed my library system after fruitless interactions with OneClick, and my library is harrassing them about their shoddy product. Maybe they’ll fix it. Probably they won’t.

Playback Speed Adjustment Please!!

I am by nature a quick reader, so when I listen to audiobooks I like them to be read fast. I am frustrated that you cannot adjust playback speed in this app. Because I am so accustomed to listening to books at an accelerated speed, it is like torture trying to listen to the books at the regular speed. In many cases, I get bored and my mind starts to wander. I am considering just deleting this app and finding the books I want to read through other sources such as Audible where speed adjustment is possible. However, if the company were to add this speed adjustment feature, it is likely I would use the app almost every day as it has great other features.

Does anyone at OneClickDigital actually try to follow their own instructions?

You can tell the difference between a competent software company versus a less-than-competent software company. The less-than-competent companies will send you “canned” instructions on how to fix a problem that has nothing to do with the issues you’re facing. Worse, they’ll send you instructions for an operating system that isn’t even close to what you’re using, or to an older version of what you’re using. OneClickDigital makes downloading a simple language program all but impossible. Their instuctions are counter-intuitive, don’t make sense, and are outdated. Worse, when talking to a customer support rep, they assume you’re a technological caveman and are too stupid to follow their “instructions.” If there was any way to use another program, I’d use it. Unfortunately, this is the company my Public Library uses for downloading language..

Grade: F (Disappointing… Doesn’t work period)

Before I tried this app, I tried getting books from the iPhone app, but it says there are no books available for any searches. I have the book link from my library saying the books are there. I tried the desktop app in hopes that it would allow me to transfer the files to the phone app. All I get is a modal asking me to select my country, with a completely empty listview and buttons that do nothing. Really? And, the website also crashes constantly in Safari on the iPhone 6 Plus, and I am seeing a server error on your supported devices web page. Let’s see here: Web? X! Mobile? X! Desktop? X! Guys, where are your developers? I am seeing 10 ‘one star’ ratings out of 13. In school 3/13 would be an F. For all 3 platforms. Advice: get some QA and processes in place before your company tanks. Somehow tons of our tax money goes to this company because public libraries purchase this software and I assume pay annual fees.

Just doesnt work

My public library doesn’t work with Overdrive, so I am forced to use this app, except this app just does not work. I was finally able to get an audio book downloaded, but I am unable to get an E-book to do the same. I am using a 2012 Macbook Pro, completely updated, and downloaded the application from Apple app store. Everytime I try to get the e-book, I am directed to a web page that says the app is outdated. I go to the app store, no, I am updated. A real disappointment. What would be nice is if the app just launched the books, from any browser, so one could access their library seamlessly from most any user end point. I cannot bring in cell phones or tablets to my office, but I can access the internet, but I cannot download software to use this service at work. I want to be able to log in from home, work, on my tablet and my cell phone and continue to enjoy a book. I hope they fix anything with this app, as anything would be an improvement.

fast playback speed

Why in windows can you play back speed fast but in Mac OS or IOS apps you cannot. Won’t use this app until

Works fine for me.

I’m using a Mac and I just downloaded my first book. The download was fast and the app works fine.

FLAT OUT DOES NOT WORK!!

Cant find my library, says my password is incorrect. Requiring this worthless app is the faul of the Microsoft DRM Nazis. The only way to play their "Protected" content is with some clumsy "Un Maclike" media like this. Thanks to everyone whos responsible for bring us Mac Users into the WOW - World Of Windows! Deleting this app immediately!
